ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Arrival in Limas international airport

We will pick you up at the airport when you arrive at Jorge Chavez international airport in Lima. Airport transfer to Hotel Casa Andina Miraflores.

 

Day 2: Amazon Rainforest Lodge 

We catch a domestic flight to the small jungle town of Puerto Maldonado in the south-east of Peru. We will travel by river boat to the Lodge (Full board at the lodge)

 

Bring binoculars for wildlife and bird spotting!

 

Day 3: Learn about the medicinal plants in the Amazon

In the morning we will visit a garden of medicinal plants and our knowledgeable guide will explain about the traditional uses and the properties of the plants, 

 

Day 4: Macaws

Before dusk we head out to the close-by clay lick where a large number of macaws gather to eat clay that is rich in minerals. To see these impressive birds in the wild is truly a memory for life, by the afternoon Hike the trails and learn about the various ecosystems and with some luck spot wildlife.

 

Day 5: Explore the jungle

In the morning after breakfast we will walk about 4 km to the Lake where we will explore and learn about the lake ecosystem by a canoe our Guide will explain us about the ecology on the lake, come back to the lodge and enjoy our delicious lunch, after a siesta or some rest in the hammock we will meet again in order to visit the canopy tower and do some observation, dinner at the lodge. 

 

Day 6: The Inca village of Ollantaytambo

Early in the morning we will head downstream back to the city and by airplane going to Cusco in the Andes. We continue to the small town of Ollantaytambo where we will spend three nights exploring the beautiful surroundings. Altitude 2800 meters of the sea level (9186 ft) Overnight at Ollantaytambo. (Breakfast)

 

Day 7: Machu Picchu

The only way to reach Machu Picchu is by foot or by rail. We will catch the trail to the town of Aguas Calientes at the foot of Machu Picchu and by midday our specialized guide will take you exploring this remarkable place. We strive towards sustainability and to visit Machu Picchu off peak visitors hours is a part of our work. Train back to Ollantaytambo at night. (Breakfast)

 

Day 8: Sacred Valley tour

Together with our specilized guide today is dedicated to exploring a few of the many sites in the beautiful Sacred Valley. Yoga in a quiet spot and visit a market of local handicraft. (Breakfast)

 

Day 9 - 13: The beach in the north of Peru

We will now leave Cusco and the mountains and change scenery completely. Late afternoon we land in the city of Piura and by car onwards towards to beach. Now it's time to relax in the hammock reading a book. We will do yoga on the beach and also classes of salsa. Swim with turtles and maybe try surfing. (Breakfasts included)

 

Day 13: Fly to Lima

It's time to head back to the airport in Piura to catch the flight back to Lima. Overnigh at Miraflores. 

 

Day 14: International departure

Airport transfer from the hotel to your departing flight.
