ITINERARY IN SHORT:

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Day 2: Explore Lima city. Fly to Iquitos at night. 

Day 3 - 8: Lodge in the rainforest

Day 8: Back to Iquitos

Day 9: Manatee rescue center and visit a floating market. Late flight back to Lima.

Day 10: International departure or book one of our add-ons and visit Cusco och Machu Picchu or the Galapagos Islands.

Note: If your international flight arrives in Lima before 2 pm you can choose to continue straight on to Iquitos that same day. If you go for this option you agree to cover any extra costs if flight delays occure.

DETAILED PROGRAM

Breakfast / lunch / dinner (B/L/D)

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Arrival at the international airport in Lima (LIM) and private airport transfer to the cosy B&B in district of Miraflores in the central part of Lima. Overnight.

Day 2: Day in Lima and to Iquitos at night (B)

Explore Lima city, the food capital of the Americas. Take an optional guided historical tour, a gourmet food tour and make your own ceviche! Or maybe you prefer to explore the city at your leisure. Transfer to the airport late afternoon and flight to Iquitos by the Amazon river, the largest isolated city in the world. Transfer to a small hotel in the central part of the city. Overnight.

Day 3 - 8: Deep into the rainforest  (B/L/D)

An unforgettable experience lies ahead as we make our way to a rainforest lodge three hours journey by river boat from Iquitos city. For the next few days we will explore the complex world of lakes, streams and rivers of the Amazon rainforest. From your Paddle board you'll be able to spot sloths resting on the branches and an impressive variety of colorful birds. If we are lucky we might even be able to see the endangered pink river dolphins. Let the soft current of the river take you peacefully downstream and feel the vibrant energy of the forest. Five nights stay at the lodge. At least three hours paddling per day.

Day 8: To Iquitos. (B/L)

After lunch it's time to make our way back to civilsation, we will be back by the afternoon. Overnight in Iquitos.

Day 9: Visit the colorful market of Belen and a manatee rescue center (B)

Enjoy a day in Iquitos and visit two very interesting places, Belen floating market and CREA, an animal rescue center. During the rainy season Belen market is mostly flooded. People live on rafts. Experience the large variety of produce and products from the jungle. Here you can see the floating lunch restaurant, the floating night club and much more. The next visit is to CREA, an animal rescue center outside of Iquitos city. When you visit you contribute to the conservation of manatees and many other animal in need. Overnight in Iquitos.

Day 10: Fly home to Lima and continue your adventure in Peru (B)

Day 10: Fly back to Lima in the morning. Please let us know if you are interested in combining the tour with a visit to Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, the beach on the north shore. We will happily make the arrangements for you.
